Democrat Jay Jones is looking to overcome scandal in his bid to unseat Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares to become Virginia’s next top prosecutor.
Jones’s campaign was rocked more than a month ago when text messages he sent in 2022 resurfaced, in which he suggested shooting the state’s then-House Speaker, a Republican.
