California voters are heading to the polls to decide whether to approve a ballot measure backed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) that would allow the state to adopt new congressional lines.
Newsom pushed for Proposition 50 in response to a Republican-led redistricting effort in Texas. The measure could help Democrats net as many as five additional seats in the deep-blue state in next year’s midterms.
