The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 has popped up in several leaked images showcasing what is quite likely the tablet’s final design. These leaked images appear to be renders of the Tab Plus Gen 2, more specifically, the promotional images that Lenovo will probably end up using in marketing.
Mobile devices with built-in sound that’s tuned by a major audio brand are the norm these days. For instance, Motorola just announced the Moto Buds 2 Plus with sound by Bose. Samsung has been using AKG-tuned sound for its devices for years. Now, Lenovo is moving in this direction, but the Tab Plus Gen 2 certainly seems to take things up a notch, judging by the size of the speaker.
Leaked images of the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 make it seem like a speaker with a display
Based on the name, it’s clear that this is a tablet-first device. It simply incorporates a larger speaker on the backside with sound tuned by JBL. You’d be forgiven, however, for thinking that this is just a speaker with a touchscreen display attached. The leaked images of the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 come from Evan Blass, who is well-known for leaking official images of all kinds of mobile devices.
Although this tablet didn’t show up at Mobile World Congress, Lenovo did show off plenty of other devices. As for the Tablet Plus Gen 2, Blass doesn’t share any information about specs. The images tell a lot, though. The tablet has a big kickstand ring on the back that surrounds the speaker, making it very easy to prop the tablet up for viewing.
Lenovo will also seemingly launch a folio case to go along with the tablet. It’ll have a cutout for the speaker, and by the looks of it, a shoulder strap. It also seems to come with the smart pen that Lenovo has packaged with some of its tablets, and there’s even a neat little spot for it in the case.
