BMW is cooking up a next-generation 3 Series for launch next year, and this time regular ICE and plug-in hybrid models will be joined by a separate electric model dubbed the i3. We say separate as the i3 will use the long-awaited Neue Klasse dedicated EV platform, while models still with a gas engine under the hood will use an updated version of the current 3 Series‘ CLAR platform.
