Apple had introduced a new two-tone design language with its iPhone 17 Pro models. However, the user feedback on it has been very mixed. Now, a new report indicates that Apple is preparing to refine the iPhone 18 Pro devices with a new aluminium-glass color tone blend. It will offer a more uniform rear finish and improved colour matching between materials.
iPhone 18 Pro will fix the 17 Pro models’ controversial dual-tone design
Apple introduced a new bold color and two-tone design with the iPhone 17 Pro devices. The cosmic color variant quickly gained the user’s attention all over the world. However, one design element of the devices drew significant commentary: the two-tone back casing that blends aluminium and glass in a way many found visually unbalanced.
Many users worldwide showed their love for the new colorway. On the other hand, a lot of users described the new two-tone design as “split look.” The glass cutout for the wireless charging was called “visually interrupting” for a metal unibody design. Now the tech giant seems to be listening to this particular user feedback.
The new design is said to be more polished and appealing
Reliable tipster Instant Digital now suggests that Apple will offer a more seamless rear design in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models. Improvements are expected in terms of how the aluminium frame blends seamlessly with the glass portion. The blend will reduce the visual contrast and enhance cohesion. The company is not yet letting go of the glass part, reportedly in order to preserve wireless charging support.
Apart from the visual changes, the iPhone 18 Pro is also tipped to get a new camera module and enhanced material treatment. In terms of hardware, it is also expected to bring the next-gen variable aperture support to the camera system. Chipset, battery, and other factors are going to be upgraded as well.
