A LaSalle Street office building is up for sale after being listed by the property’s owner, a joint venture of Boston-based Beacon Capital Partners, which bought it in late 2019 for $230 million.
A Cushman & Wakefield team of Tom Sitz, Cody Hundertmark and Dan Deuter are seeking a buyer for the 40-story building at 190 S. LaSalle St., reported Crain’s. The property’s anchor tenant, U.S. Bank, is also Beacon’s lender. The bank currently leases a little more than 12,000 square feet in the building.
Based on recent sales of similar properties in the city, the building could sell for far less than the balance of the $167.5 million mortgage from U.S. Bank that Beacon borrowed against it in 2020. Designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, the postmodern skyscraper is known for its distinctive green gabled roof.
