Kidder Mathews has been awarded leasing and property management for the Flood Building, a 12-story, 300,000-square-foot landmark at 870 Market St. in San Francisco’s Union Square. The historic property includes 200,000 square feet of multi-tenant office space and 100,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Lori Coleman, RPA will oversee management of the building, while Jim Walker, Scott Vix, CCIM, SIOR, Martin Melbardis, and Kate Schmitz will handle leasing of the office space.
Owned by the Flood family since its completion in 1904, the building is among the few major downtown structures to survive the 1906 earthquake and fire. It underwent an extensive renovation in 1993 and today is home to a diverse mix of tenants from around the world.
“The Flood Building is a living part of San Francisco’s history, and the family has carried it forward with pride and purpose for more than 120 years,” said Coleman. “That kind of long-term stewardship is rare and mirrors how we approach client relationships, many of which have lasted for decades.”
