Last week, Jeep announced it was recalling 320,000 4xe models because the battery pack could catch fire. The recommendation for customers was to avoid charging and use the gas engine until the battery issue was solved. Now Jeep is recalling 113,000 of those same 4xe models because of a problem with the gas engine, and yes, it’s exactly what you’re fearing. They have a problem that could result in an engine fire. Damned if you do… damned if you don’t.
