JBL today announced a new Bluetooth Speaker that is joining their lineup – the JBL Grip. This is a new ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker, which the company says is designed for grab-and-go. The Grip’s design was inspired by a seltzer can, but a bit taller. It does feature the sound signature you’d expect from JBL, along with customizable ambient lighting, intuitive touch controls, P68 dust and water protection, and a convenient back-panel rope loop.
Despite its size, the JBL Grip does output a whole lot of sound. There’s 16W of audio output here, and it is also equipped with AI Sound Boost. This provides some very powerful and deep bass, coming from such a small speaker.
As you can with most of JBL’s speakers, you can also pair two speakers for stereo sound or connect multiple speakers with Auracast for sound that takes it to the next level.
JBL Grip can last all day, with 14 hours of playtime
JBL did not skimp on the battery life here either. The company says that the Grip can last for around 14 hours of playtime. Now, that will obviously depend on how you’re using the Grip, maxxing out the volume will likely lead to lower battery life.
Like the JBL Clip and Flip, which the Grip sits right in between as far as size goes, the Grip does come n a boatload of different color options. There are 10 color options available, including the very popular camo colorway. And there’s likely going to be even more coming.
JBL is using recycled plastic and fabric, plus FSC-certified paper packaging on the JBL Grip. As the company is doing its part to help the environment.
The JBL Grip is available now from JBL’s website for $99.95. And it’ll be available with a wider release come September 28.
