Bexar County Commissioners are working on an incentives contract with Sanko, a Japanese-based company, and Operational Technologies, a San Antonio-based company. Together, they plan to develop a new North American manufacturing plant in the county.Â
The companies plan to manufacture plastics, logistics and material handling products used across various industries. The joint venture expects to spend $40 million on the project and hire 50 workers when it opens for business.
The incentive package will amount to a 10-year, 75% tax abatement on real and personal property investments.Â
The planned facility is slated for a site along Watson Road, near San Antonio’s massive Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas Inc. plant. Now called Toyota Texas, the $500 million plant will continue to attract suppliers within the general vicinity.
