Google has finally announced the Pixel 10a, and it looks a lot like the Pixel 9a. Which is not surprising, particularly since Google was able to keep it at the same price – just $499. Despite all the increases in RAM and NAND prices over the past year.
With the Pixel 10a, Google is positioning this device as “Everything you need, at a price you’ll love,” and that describes this device pretty perfectly. It’s got all of the essentials, and still remains under $500.
The design here remains virtually identical to the Pixel 9a, with the flat back and a slightly thicker body. It does house a 5,100mAh capacity battery, larger than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which costs nearly three times as much.
Google did change two colors, the Berry and Lavender are now slightly more vibrant than they were last year, with Bettery being a new color actually. The Google Pixel 10a colors look quite nice, actually. It will come in Fog, Obsidian, Berry, and Lavender.
The most durable Google Pixel a-series to date
Google also claims that the Pixel 10a is its most durable Pixel a-series to date, and that’s thanks to an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. That’s the same rating as the rest of the Pixel 10 series and virtually every other flagship launched in the past 5+ years. Google also upgraded the front-glass protection, which is now using Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i.
There are a few other improvements here, like the 6.3-inch Actua Display is now 11% brighter versus the Pixel 9a, and the battery is better. Google says that it can now last for 30 hours of usage, or 120 hours on Extreme Power Saver mode, despite using the same 5,100mAh capacity battery as the Pixel 9a.
When can you buy the Pixel 10a?
Google Pixel 10a pre-orders begin today. You can pre-order it from the Google Store and major phone carriers in the US. The Google Pixel 10a price starts at $499 for the 128GB model and $599 for the 256GB model.
Google is also launching the Pixel Buds 2a in two new colors: Berry and Fog. As a way to complement the Pixel 10a, and have a matching pair.
