How much will Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 series cost? Best-case scenario, Apple doesn’t increase the price. Unfortunately, it looks like the price of the iPhone 18 could be something of a mixed bag.
iPhone 18 price could see an increase
According to a report from tipster yeux1122 on Naver, Apple could raise the price for its iPhone 18 series launching later this year. This is reportedly due to the increasing price of memory, where more memory manufacturers are starting to move away from consumer-grade memory to that for AI-processing servers.
However, there is some good news. Based on predictions from analysts from Citigroup, Bank of America, and JP Morgan Research, yeux1122 says that the price increase only applies to the Pro models. This means that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could cost more than its predecessors. The base iPhone 18, on the other hand, could remain the same.
So, if you are planning on upgrading, maybe the base model could be the cheaper option. But we should note that Apple is expected to switch up its launch strategy this year. Instead of launching its entire flagship lineup at once, Apple could choose to launch only the Pro, Pro Max, and foldable models first. Then the base iPhone 18 could only come in 2027.
We have heard rumors that Apple has managed to secure enough RAM for its iPhone 18 series from Samsung. However, we’re not sure if this rumored price increase has taken that into account. Alternatively, maybe the price hike would have been more if not for this deal.
What can we expect?
For 2026, we can expect to see the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max and the new iPhone fold. For the Pro and Pro Max models, don’t expect a redesign. Apple is largely expected to maintain the same look as the iPhone 17 series, maybe with new color options.
However, the biggest change is that Apple is rumored to introduce an in-display Face ID system. This means we could see Apple ditch the visible Dynamic Island in favor of a hole-punch cutout.Â
But Apple isn’t getting rid of Dynamic Island. It will still exist, but will now be moved to the side. It sounds good on paper since it won’t take up space in the middle of the screen. Whether it’s practical or not remains to be seen.-
