Apple’s iPhone 17 series is expected to launch next month. Some of the models are rumored to see an upgrade in display size. Now, thanks to a post on X by tipster Majin Bu, they have shared the screen protectors of the iPhone 17 lineup, which gives us a clearer look at how different the sizes are next to each other.
iPhone 17 screen protectors leak
As you can see in the image above, the iPhone 17 screen protectors are placed next to each other in increasing sizes. For starters, the base iPhone 17 is expected to see a bump in display size to 6.3-inches. This puts it on par with the iPhone 17 Pro. As for the iPhone 17 Air, it is rumored to come with a 6.6-inch display.
Given how the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to replace the Plus model, in this instance, Apple is actually downgrading the size by 0.1-inches. However, given how the phone is rumored to be incredibly thin with slim bezels, we doubt that most can tell a difference. But it also means that you can’t use iPhone 16 Plus screen protectors with the phone. As for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it will retain the sam1231212e 6.9-inch screen as its predecessor.
Like we mentioned earlier, Apple is expected to give some of these displays an upgrade. While the base iPhone 17 is seeing a bump in size, Apple is also rumored to give it a 120Hz refresh rate. This is the same for the iPhone 17 Air. However, it might not be ProMotion displays. This means that it won’t use the same LTPO tech or feature support for always-on display.
iPhone 17 Air will be the star of the show
This year’s iPhone lineup won’t feature massive changes. If you’re hoping to see a huge change, you might have to wait for the 20th anniversary iPhone in 2027. However, for this year, we expect the iPhone 17 Air to be the star of the show.
This model replaces the Plus model, but it will also be Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date. A recently leaked photo shows how thin the battery of the iPhone 17 Air is. While it was initially rumored to feature slightly compromised specs, recent reports seem to dispel that myth.
Granted, it might only pack a single camera. However, under the hood, the iPhone 17 Air could feature the same A19 Pro chipset as the Pro and Pro Max models. It is also rumored to feature more RAM than the base iPhone 17.
Either way, we should have more details next month. So, until then, take it with a grain of salt.
