In the next few months, Apple will officially unveil its brand new iPhone 17 lineup. This is the company’s flagship lineup for 2025. One of the more exciting models is the iPhone 17 Air, which, thanks to a hands-on video published by Majin Bu Official, is shown off in a sleek black finish.
iPhone 17 Air hands-on video
We should point out that this iPhone 17 Air hands-on video is not of the actual phone, but rather a dummy unit. It is based on the leaks and rumors we’ve heard so far, but it has the added bonus of looking like the real deal, complete with black paint. We’re not sure if this is one of the colors Apple will offer. However, if it is, we’re really digging that stealthy look.
Also, the hands-on video shows just how incredibly thin the phone is. That is pretty much the main selling point here. This is because if the rumors are accurate, the iPhone 17 Air won’t pack the most powerful or amazing hardware. In order to get the phone this thin, Apple had to make some sacrifices.
This includes outfitting the phone with a single camera setup. This is quite a bizarre choice in this day and age, where even the most budget phones have at least a dual camera setup. However, it is possible that Apple is using a high-quality sensor. Coupled with Apple’s image processing software, it should still be able to take decent photos.
What else can we expect?
In addition to the slim design, Apple is also rumored to introduce a silicon carbon battery in the iPhone 17 Air. This is the first for Apple, but not the first for Android handset makers. Companies like OPPO have used the technology in the Find N5 foldable. Silicon-carbon batteries are batteries that are slimmer but denser.
This means that a regular 5,000mAh lithium-ion battery would be slimmer if it used silicon-carbon technology. This allows Apple to fit a decent-sized battery in the iPhone 17 Air without completely compromising on battery life.
The iPhone 17 Air will also replace Apple’s long-running Plus model. It is also rumored to serve as a testbed for the upcoming foldable iPhone that is expected to launch in 2026.
