Infinix continues to stand out in the mid-range segment with its compelling phones at aggressive prices. We already had a great experience with the Infinix Hot 60 Pro and Pro+ (review), and now the company is taking another leap forward. Today, the Infinix Note Edge 5G debuted, bringing an unusual combination of exceptional battery life and a surprisingly sleek profile. While many “big battery” phones tend to be bulky, the Note Edge manages to pack a massive battery into a frame that is just 7.2mm thick.
Infinix Note Edge 5G arrives with premium look and powerful specs
The Note Edge marks the Indian debut of the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. According to benchmarks cited by the company, this processor pushes the device to an AnTuTu score exceeding 750,000. The figure makes it a capable option for both daily tasks and gaming.
The visual experience is driven by a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display. It offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, but the most striking detail is its peak brightness of 4,500 nits. This is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and framed by ultra-slim 1.87mm bezels, giving it a premium look.
Fitting a 6,500mAh battery into 7.2mm
The standout feature of the Note Edge is undoubtedly its 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Infinix claims this is the largest battery they have ever integrated into a smartphone. To ensure longevity, the device uses a “self-repairing” system designed to maintain over 80% health even after 2,000 charge cycles—roughly six years of use.
Despite its size, the battery supports 45W fast charging, reaching 50% in about 27 minutes. It also includes “Bypass Charging,” a feature gamers will appreciate as it allows the phone to run directly on wall power without heating up the battery during intense sessions. You can even use the handset as a power bank thanks to the 10W wired reverse charging support.
Software and cameras
On the software side, the Note Edge is the first from the brand to ship with XOS 16, based on the latest Android 16. Infinix is promising a solid support window with three major Android upgrades and five years of security patches. We’re glad to see Infinix finally stepping up its game in terms of software support. The system also introduces the “FOLAX” AI assistant, which can be triggered via a dedicated side button to summarize text or translate conversations on the fly.
For photography, the rear module features a customized 50MP main sensor optimized for low-light conditions. The lens is capable of recording video at 2K resolution. The front houses a 13MP camera for selfies, tucked into the curved display.
Other features
The company completes the package with other fan-favorite features. There’s an IR sensor, which will allow you to control your home appliances (like air conditioners, TVs, etc.) with your phone. You’ll also get a pair of JBL-tuned stereo speakers, as well as an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. Biometrics are handled by an in-display optical fingerprint sensor.
