IKEA U.S. said Wednesday it plans to open its first store within the city of Los Angeles. Scheduled to open in spring 2026, the new IKEA Culver City location will further expand IKEA’s Southern California footprint to 10 customer locations.
The 38,050-square-foot IKEA Culver City will be located in the Helms Design District, at 3225-A Helms Ave. in a space formerly occupied by the HD Buttercup Design Center. The home furnishings retailer announced the Westide LA opening as part of its 2025 Annual Summary.
“We are excited to bring the IKEA experience even closer to the many Angelenos, in a city where the brand is deeply loved and where interest in home furnishing is especially strong,” said Gustavo Tinajero, IKEA Southern California metro area manager.
LA Business First reported that IKEA currently operates full-sized stores in Burbank, Carson, Costa Mesa and Covina, plus one small-format store in Arcadia and plan-and-order points with pickup in Santa Monica, Thousand Oaks and Ontario.
