- Trump administration has ordered 45 armored vehicles from Roshel.
- Senators provide B7 ballistic protection against multiple rifle rounds.
- Contracts are valued at over $15 million during an ongoing trade war.
The Trump administration claims to put America First, so it’s interesting to note that Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known these days as ICE, has decided to buy 20 Canadian armored vehicles. If that wasn’t odd enough, the move comes amid a bitter trade war with our neighbors to the north.
The vehicles in question are Roshel Senators and the contract is valued at $7,234,926 ($10,089,863 CAD). It also comes shortly after the State Department ordered 25 Senators for $8,195,541 ($11,430,242 CAD).

Procurement documents note ICE is buying Roshel Senators that provide B7 levels of protection. This easily handles small arms as well as rifles shooting .308, 30-06, and 7.62 mm ammunition.
While it’s odd that the Trump administration is buying foreign vehicles, Canada’s GlobalNews said Roshel was the only company that could meet the “department’s requirements and can complete the order within 30 days.”
ICE, as you’re likely aware, has been cracking down on illegal immigrants and deporting them. In one recent operation, the agency arrested 3,593 “criminal illegal aliens” in Texas, reportedly including 13 murderers, 67 sex offenders, and 366 individuals convicted of driving while impaired. Others were said to be involved in auto thefts and hit-and-runs.

While President Trump and Ontario Premier Doug Ford had a very public spat over an anti-tariff ad earlier this year, the latter embraced the irony of the order. As he told the publication, “We’ll take orders anywhere in the world and thank goodness that the Americans are ordering it off us.”
