- The facelifted Hyundai Santa Fe has been spied undergoing testing.
- It could debut next year with an all-new front end and updated rear.
- The crossover may be offered with a new range-extended powertrain.
The Hyundai Santa Fe got a boxy redesign for 2024 and the company is now working on a facelifted variant. Prototypes were recently spied undergoing cold weather testing in Europe and they hint at some pretty significant changes.
While the crossovers are dressed in heavy disguise, we can see a new front end. The squared off headlights with H-shaped daytime running lights have been replaced by much smaller units that reside lower in the bumper.

The repositioning appears to have allowed Hyundai designers to install a significantly wider grille. It’s flanked by vertical LED daytime running lights, which double as turn signals.
Additional details are hard to make out, but it appears the model will retain its rectangular mid-mounted intake. We can also see a revised lower intake, which features a more pronounced sensor in the middle.

The rear light bar and H-style taillights appear to have given way to new vertical lighting units that echo those found up front. Elsewhere, there’s a new bumper that appears far more curvaceous than the angular one found on the current model.
Spy photographers didn’t get close enough to snap interior pictures, but we can likely expect a handful of updates. Their extent remains to be seen, but the crossover will likely adopt the company’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system. It’s based on Android Automotive OS and is slated to be launched later this year.

Little else is known about the facelifted crossover at this point, but previous spy photos have suggested the Santa Fe will be offered with a new range-extended powertrain.
It will presumably be joined by existing engines. This includes a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder developing 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and 311 lb-ft (421 Nm) of torque as well as a hybridized 1.6-liter turbo pumping out a combined 231 hp (172 kW / 234 PS) and 271 lb-ft (367 Nm).
