Back in 2022, a Hyundai Elantra N owner was pulled over by a California police officer because his exhaust was too loud for noise regulations. There was just one major issue; his exhaust was completely stock. Hyundai Motor America stepped in to help resolve the issue, and it remained adamant that the Elantra N met all requirements to be road-legal. While we can’t find any updates to this story, it looks like Hyundai has taken some precautions to make sure owners won’t be pulled over in the future.
