The Hyundai Kona Electric was one of the first EVs the Korean automaker introduced in the US. It arrived in 2019, predating the Ioniq 5 by three years. It’s also the cheapest EV right now, but after six years on the market and a switch to a new shell for its second generation, Hyundai has cut most of the Kona Electric lineup. The nameplate is not entirely gone, but the company has reduced it to just one trim from the four available previously.
