Hunt Companies has been granted approval to build three high-rise buildings on 200 E. Riverside Drive. The buildings are expected to include 1.3 million square feet of office space, almost 900 residential units, just under 32,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial and retail space and a 513-room hotel. The building height could go up to 600 feet.
The site is currently occupied by a 93,000-square-foot, vacant office building that was built in 1970.Â
The Austin Business Journal reports this planned unit development is just one of several big projects proposed for Austin’s South Central Waterfront area. Other projects nearby include plans to build a 480-foot tower at 311 – 315 S. Congress Ave. and Endeavor Real Estate Group’s proposed redevelopment of the former Austin American-Statesman site at 305 S. Congress Ave.
Based in El Paso, Texas, Hunt is a diversified, family-owned holding company that invests in operating businesses, real estate assets, and infrastructure assets since 1947.
