In addition to the Huawei Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro, which we’ve already talked about, Huawei also announced its flagship smartwatch today, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2. This one is especially aimed for divers, but it’s an all-around fitness beast.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 is the first smartwatch to support underwater sonar communication
Huawei is proud to say that the Watch Ultimate 2 is the first smartwatch that supports underwater sonar-based communication. The company says that this makes deep sea diving safer and more convenient at the same time.
You can easily send preset messages and emoticons to other watches within 30 meters. There’s also an underwater SOS feature, which supports a range of 60 metres.

It is certified for 150-metre diving
The watch is made of zirconium-based liquid metal and has a 150-metre diving-level waterproof rating. Huawei also crammed in an “innovative gap antenna system” here. The watch also comes with HD golf course maps and “pro-level outdoor features.”
Regarding that gap antenna system. It boosts signal strength outdoors, and its Sunflower Positioning System “is bolstered by dual-band five-system positioning and advanced algorithms to provide pinpoint navigation in challenging conditions.”
eSIM support is included, as is Fall Detection
This watch can also be used to make calls on its own, as it has the eSIM feature. Fall Detection is also included, as is Emergency SOS, and High-altitude monitoring.
The watch comes in Ocean Blue and Compass Black colors, while TruSense is also supported by the X-TAP tech. You’ll be getting up to 11 key health metrics via the Health Glance feature too. Fingertip SpO2 measurements are on offer too, as well as heart rate and sleep tracking.
It offers up to 11 days of battery life… if you’re saving up
You can get up to 11 days of use from the watch, thanks to the battery saver mode. Standard mode supports 4.5 days of use. That’s great, not the Watch GT 6 or GT 6 Pro great, but still great compared to the competition.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 is available to pre-order from the Huawei Store starting today. We have a price for the UK model only for now. The Compass Black variant costs £799.99, while the Ocean Blue model will set you back £899.99. Huawei also has some launch offers available. The watch will be available across Europe and in a number of other markets.
