After standing for 23 years, professional sports facilities start getting a little long in the tooth. Houston Rockets management recognized this and recently announced that the Toyota Center will undergo a major renovation, a $180 million project starting this summer, as soon as the Houston Rockets’ season is over.
The Toyota Center renovations, which are expected to be done by Fall 2027, include a 20,000-square foot atrium with a glass facade that will change the look of the front door of the downtown arena. Other entrances also will be upgraded and more square footage will be added. As part of the project, all existing suites will be fully renovated and modernized, creating a significantly enhanced premium experience across multiple levels of the arena. The new Summit Club on the suite level will feature more than 6,000 square feet of premium hospitality space with multiple dining and lounge areas.
Clutch City Sports & Entertainment will oversee the project.
