HOTWAV has just announced its latest rugged tablet. It features a massive 20,080mAh capacity battery and is known as the HOTWAV R9 Plus Rugged Tablet. This battery is large enough that it can last a whopping 3-5 days with normal use. This makes it super convenient as you won’t need to charge it every day, and also great for a camping trip where you may not have access to electricity to charge for a day or two.
This tablet is designed for professionals and outdoor enthusiasts requiring high performance and top-tier durability. HOTWAV built the R9 Plus to withstand the elements while also delivering excellent performance. It meets IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H standards. This makes it water-resistant, dustproof, and shockproof.
For those unaware, IP69K means that the device is completely dustproof and can withstand washdown at pressures of 80 to 100 bar/1,160 to 1,450 PSI. In simpler terms, it can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, similar to those used in industrial cleaning.
Inside the HOTWAV R9 Plus is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor with up to 24GB of RAM. HOTWAV does mention that there is 8GB of physical memory inside, with up to 16GB of virtual memory available. It has also equipped the R9 Plus with 512GB of storage and a micro SD card slot that supports up to 2TB. This is the first tablet we’ve seen in quite some time with a microSD card slot available. It also sports an 11-inch FHD+ display, perfect for watching YouTube, reviewing work plans, and everything in between. It also runs on Android 14 out of the box.
HOTWAV didn’t skimp on the cameras either, with a 64-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, giving you pretty incredible imaging and video capabilities when needed. HOTWAV also mentions that there is Widevine L1 support, meaning that you can stream HD content from popular platforms. Surprisingly, this is a feature lacking in many other rugged tablets.

Also on the back of this tablet, is a “Super Camping Light” as HOTWAV refers to it. This is an incredibly bright LED light on the back of the tablet, which can reach a brightness of up to 350 lumens. The light includes approximately 510 LED beads and can operate at up to 6 watts. Like the rest of the tablet, the light also boasts high water resistance and exceptional durability, allowing it to handle all of the tough conditions.
The HOTWAV R9 Plus is built for the real world, with an innovative design. This includes a flexible aluminum stand and a leather handstrap. Making it easier to use at a job site, while providing a secure grip for those long days.
