HONOR showed off its unique Robot Phone at the MWC 2026 earlier this month. At the core of this is a unique gimbal arm, which retracts into its rear housing when not in use. At the moment, we don’t have the specs of the phone, except for a 200MP camera. The company did promise it would launch by the end of this year. Well, a new leak coming out of China sheds light on the HONOR Robot Phone’s launch and some of its video recording details.
HONOR Robot Phone’s launch details leak
Tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo claims the HONOR Robot Phone is tentatively scheduled to debut in Q3 2026. This means we’re looking at a launch window between July and September. The leak is most probably talking about a China release, but since it made an appearance at MWC 2026, we’re guessing it will launch in global markets as well.
Furthermore, the tipster also claims that HONOR’s collaboration with ARRI will be first put to use in the Robot phone. As a refresher, both companies announced a partnership during MWC 2026. The leak says this will bring imaging capabilities like video science and color algorithms.

Superior video recording capabilities
Additionally, the leak says that HONOR will adopt a hardware-level PTZ anti-shake feature for the phone. It also mentions that a new “video stream processing” software (app?) will allow to quickly complete video editing and publishing. It sounds like a dedicated app for vloggers with a bunch of new features catering to their needs. HONOR seems to be focusing not just on hardware but also on the software to offer a complete package with superior video recording capabilities.
The timing, which the leaker is claiming, collides with Apple’s annual iPhone launch cycle. HONOR may take on the new iPhones with its unique gimbal arm and impressive video recording capabilities. That is, if the leak indeed pans out. More details of the HONOR Robot Phone should surface in the coming days.
