HONOR launched the Power smartphone earlier in April with a massive 8,000mAh battery. Despite featuring a beefy battery, the device also has a slim form factor. HONOR could take the battery game to a whole new level with its upcoming Power 2 offering, which could feature an even bigger 10,000mAh battery.
HONOR’s Power 2 could take the battery game to a whole new level
Earlier this month, popular gadget tipster Digital Chat Station suggested that an unnamed Chinese brand is planning to test a device with a massive 10,000mAh battery. The same tipster now claims that the phone has moved into the NPI (New Product Introduction) phase, which suggests that development is progressing.
The tipster didn’t reveal the name of the device, but many users on the post on Weibo have suggested that it could be the HONOR Power 2. The device will reportedly launch in the first half of 2026 as a mid-range smartphone.
Other companies join the big battery race
HONOR will reportedly make 7,000mAh batteries a standard on its flagship phones and 8,000mAh on mid-range devices this year. The company also launched the HONOR X70 earlier this month with a huge 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery.
HONOR isn’t the only brand focusing on large battery capacities. OPPO recently released the K30 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro, both featuring a 7,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging. Similarly, Realme launched the Realme 15 Pro with the same battery and charging specs. Rumors suggest that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will feature a 7,000mAh battery, while the iQOO Z10 could have an 8,000mAh battery.
Even the upcoming Xiaomi 16 series devices could also feature a 7,000mAh battery. It’s quite clear that 7,000mAh or higher batteries are becoming increasingly common in mid-range and high-end phones. Unfortunately, Apple and Samsung fans will have to wait, as these brands are unlikely to equip their flagship devices with such large batteries anytime soon.
