HONOR is hosting an event in China today. At the event, the brand will introduce two new flagship smartphones in the Magic series: the HONOR Magic8 and Magic8 Pro. If we believe the reports, the company will also have a Mini model in the Magic8 series. The brand will not introduce it before the first half of 2026, as per leaks. However, it hasn’t stopped a tipster from sharing the key specifications of the HONOR Magic8 Mini much ahead of the official announcement.
HONOR Magic8 Mini will be a compact flagship with a 6.31-inch screen
According to the reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the HONOR Magic8 Mini will feature a 6.31-inch 2.5D flat display with 1.5K resolution. It will feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and offer wireless charging capabilities.
MediaTek’s D9500 series flagship chipset will power the upcoming compact smartphone from HONOR. Some earlier reports indicated that the device will have an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9500 SoC. Unfortunately, the leaker hasn’t shared any details about the RAM and storage capacity of the new Mini Magic smartphone.
A 200MP main camera and a periscope lens
Furthermore, the source has claimed that the HONOR Magic8 Mini will flaunt a 200-megapixel primary camera at the rear. The brand will also equip the device with a periscope lens to deliver enhanced zoom photography capabilities. We can also expect the device to feature an impressive selfie camera on the front.
Reports earlier have suggested that HONOR will equip the Magic8 Mini with a 7,200mAh battery, one of the largest on a compact flagship device. Furthermore, the device could be able to juice up quickly, thanks to the support for 120W wired fast charging.
HONOR plans to launch the Mini Magic model alongside the Magic8 Ultra flagship in early 2026, according to reports. After going official, the Mini will compete against the likes of other recent compact offerings, such as the Xiaomi 17 and Vivo X300.
