You can’t make a much more sensible choice than a CR-V
If the Toyota RAV4 didn’t exist, the Honda CR-V would be the top-selling compact crossover in the United States. It’s not the cheapest or flashiest, but the CR-V’s reliability reputation, efficient powertrains, and spacious cabin combine to make it one of the most sensible purchases in the segment.
The CR-V nameplate just turned 30, so it’s been around for long enough to become a household name. For the 2026 model year, you can lease a new CR-V for the same monthly amount as the current RAV4, so here’s a breakdown of the numbers.

Honda CR-V October Lease Deals
Honda
For October, the Honda CR-V lease price begins at $309 per month, the same as what you’ll pay for the 2025 RAV4 (Toyota is launching an all-new RAV4 for 2026 imminently).
The Honda CR-V leasing deal requires $3,599 upon signing ($400 less than the RAV4), but the CR-V lease deal is over 39 months, three months longer than the RAV4’s deal. These figures are based on the CR-V LX with front-wheel drive, and run up to November 3, 2025. Mileage is limited to 10,000 miles annually for all Honda CR-V lease offers, and any amount over that is charged at $0.20 per mile.
If you want to lease another trim, these deals only apply to the LX. However, the CR-V Hybrid is eligible for lease deals in October in either Sport or TrailSport trims.

As is always the case, the state you live in can affect available lease deals, so always check with your local Honda dealer—or pop your zip code into the Honda site—to confirm what’s on offer in your location.
The price for the LX FWD listed above is for customers who own a 2010 or newer Honda, or vehicle from one of these other brands: Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fisker, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Polestar, Ram, Rivian, Scion, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, VinFast, and Volkswagen. If you don’t own one of these models, the monthly cost goes up to $339/month. Honda bills this as a $1,000 loyalty or conquest award amount. If you don’t qualify for a loyalty or conquest award when you lease a Honda CR-V, expect similar increases on other trims to the LX example highlighted here.
If you want to buy, Honda is offering 3.99% APR finance on the 2026 CR-V and CR-V Hybrid for a term of between 24 and 36 months. For between 37 and 60 months, that rises to 4.99% APR. Note that the 2026 Honda CR-V starts at $30,920 for the base LX and tops out at $42,250 for the Sport Touring Hybrid.

CR-V Powertrain and Features
The non-hybrid CR-V has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. If you go for the hybrid, it has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder that, combined with the electric motors, produces 204 hp. Up to 40 mpg combined is possible in the CR-V Hybrid, dropping to 30 mpg in the non-hybrid model with FWD.
All trims mentioned in the lease deals get standard features like automatic climate control, a nine-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch TFT meter display, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. However, the base LX misses out on some nicer upgrades like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats with power-adjustment for the driver, and rear USB-C charging ports.
Not only are the hybrids better-equipped, but they’re quicker and more efficient, too, so we recommend springing for a CR-V Hybrid for the minimal extra monthly cost.

Final Thoughts
For the risk-averse, buying or leasing a Honda CR-V is one of the most sensible car-buying decisions you can make. Good residual values also support the decision to lease a CR-V; that’s besides the fact that it’s one of the most practical crossovers in its class, with space to rival some mid-size models.
Leasing a 2025 RAV4 is a little cheaper right now when comparing base trims, and Toyota charges a lower fee ($0.15/mile) for exceeding the annual mileage limit. But the 2025 RAV4 is also older than the 2026 CR-V, so be sure to compare specifications before taking the plunge.
