Five-cylinder engines were widely available not that long ago, with brands like Volkswagen, Volvo, Ford, Fiat, and even Acura offering them in recent decades. Today, however, Audi is the only automaker still producing a five-cylinder, specifically a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five used in high-performance models from its Audi Sport division, such as the RS3 compact sedan and hatch, the RS Q3 compact crossover, and the former TT RS sports car. In these applications, it delivers up to 401 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
