Greystar is moving ahead with a 336-unit apartment complex near Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports Greystar closed on the land for $12.9 million earlier this year.
Called Birchway Sarasota, the project is expected to be built in three phases. The first phase will consist of a nearly 7,000-square-foot clubhouse, a pool deck and courtyard and two four-story residential buildings — one with 48 units and the other with 64. The second phase includes another garage and two more residential buildings, again with 48 and 64 units. The final phase includes another garage and two residential buildings. The garden-style apartments will have 168 one-bedroom units, 144 two-bedroom units and 24 three-bedroom units.
The apartment project will be adjacent to the SRQ Logistics Center, a 300-acre master-planned community. SRQ Logistics Center is a master-planned industrial development anchored by an Amazon last-mile warehouse. In August 2023, a distribution center for United Natural Foods Inc. broke ground within SRQ Logistics Center.
