Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday shot back at conservatives criticizing her for agreeing to an upcoming appearance on ABC’s “The View.”
“There are pathetic Republican men (mostly paid social media influencers) attacking me for going on Bill Maher’s show and The View,” Greene wrote in a statement on social platform X.
“Here is my voting card and nothing has changed about me, I’m 1,000,000% America ONLY,” she added, sharing a screenshot of her A+ rating from the Conservative Review.
The Georgia Republican’s decision to join “The View’s” panel came as a shock to some who allege those on the show tend to be critical of President Trump and the GOP.
Greene, who has been an ally of Trump and his MAGA movement for years, bucked the party in recent weeks by criticizing Republican’s plan — or perceived lack thereof — to address expiring health care tax credits under the Affordable Care Act, denouncing U.S. aid from being sent to Israel and urging the Justice Department (DOJ) to release more files tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said he’s trying “not to react to what Marjorie Taylor Greene says every day” earlier this month as media coverage of her frustrations with the party bubbled.
“Sorry I’m not sorry I don’t obey Republican men’s demands that I, as a woman, don’t remain seen but not heard,” Greene said Thursday.
Despite her criticism, the lawmaker she remains a staunch supporter of Trump and is committed to his agenda.
“Whereas President Trump has a very strong, dominant style — he’s not weak at all — a lot of the men here in the House are weak,” she previously told The Washington Post.
