Google’s unreleased Pixel Tablet Pen not only just surfaced, but you can actually go buy one, if you want. Google never actually launched this pen, unfortunately, but if you really want to try it, you can grab it. More on that soon.
Unreleased Google Pixel Tablet Pen is now on sale via Amazon
This pen first surfaced late last year. It was expected to launch as an official stylus for the Pixel Tablet, but it never did. A physical button was visible on it, and it was expected to work over USI 2.0.
Considering that the pen is now available to purchase, Google was obviously just one step away from actually launching it. The Pixel Tablet Pen has been appearing in the Chinese marketplace, Goofish, and now it’s even on sale via Amazon.
What’s interesting is that several different sellers are now offering this pen, but not under its original name. It’s offered as a generic USI 2.0 stylus carrying Google’s GM0KF model number. That is the model number of the company’s unreleased stylus.
You can check out the images of the stylus on offer below. We’ve also included images that 9to5Google shared, as folks over there actually bought one stylus.
You can grab it for $25
Google’s logo is placed on the button, while there’s also a ‘Designed for Google’ branding here. It’s obvious what this is. Folks over at 9to5Google purchased this for $25, but the prices vary.
The stylus apparently works as expected. It has a USB-C charging port with a status light. It charges up quickly, and it immediately functions with the Pixel Tablet’s display. The input is “responsive and fluid”, while the software does respond when you hover over buttons.
Unfortunately, though, the button does not do absolutely anything. It’s a nice fidget toy, but that’s about it.
