Android 16 has started to roll out to Pixel phones yesterday, along with the latest Pixel feature drop, the one for June 2025. Well, amongst all that, Google also started rolling out a June 2025 security patch, along with a number of fixes and improvements.
We’ve been focusing on various new features that Google announced, so let’s talk about the security boost here and various fixes as well. First and foremost, these improvements are hitting a bunch of Google’s Pixel phones, from the Pixel 6 and up.
Google’s June 2025 Android security patch is rolling out to a bunch of devices
To be entirely accurate, the fixes are coming to the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, and 9a. Google issued fixes across a number of sections, including Camera, Display, Bluetooth, Biometrics, and more. Do note that not all fixes apply to all phones; more on that soon.
Before we get to various fixes, let’s just say that the June 2025 security patch resolves 18 security issues. The dedicated bulletin for Google devices lists an additional 16 security fixes.
A full changelog is packed with fixes
You can check a full changelog here. Do note that there are a lot of entries here, but they’re not for all phones, as mentioned earlier. You’ll notice different numbers next to different entries, which symbolize different groups of devices.
This can be a bit confusing as different devices are listed all over the place, especially the Pixel 9 series. It’s listed under numbers 1, 3, 5, and 6. We won’t talk about fixes for specific devices here, but fixes that Google listed in general.
So, for example, in the ‘Biometrics’ section, Google lists general improvements for fingerprint recognition. Under the ‘Bluetooth’ section, Google listed a fix for an issue causing certain Bluetooth devices to disconnect under certain conditions.
Camera and Display fixes are listed too
The ‘Camera’ section mentions that camera stability issues under certain conditions have also been improved. Google also issued general display stability fixes, and fixed inconsistent light/dark theme notifications.
Google also issued general improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions, and much more. You can check out the entire changelog below, along with a list of devices these changes are related to.
