Google Pixel’s At a Glance is a context-aware widget on Android Phones like the Pixel 10 Pro XL for the home screen and lock screen. It displays real-time information about various things like weather, calendar, travel updates, and more. It gained a big update last month that added sports, scores, finance information, and, more importantly, commute information. Now, it seems that Google is working on bringing two new features to At a Glance for Pixel devices, including one that will help you with your restaurant order.
Google Pixel’s At a Glance Restaurant Insights helps you decide what to order
Android Authority reports they’ve spotted code for two new At a Glance features: “Passes Nearby” and “Restaurant Insights” in Android System Intelligence vB.23.885134531. These two join the ever-growing list of At a Glance features on Google Pixel phones like the Pixel 10.
Starting with the Passes Nearby feature, the description (from the images below) suggests that it will allow users to quickly access passes from their Google Wallet based on their location. However, what’s not clear is whether users must enable the “Get notifications for this event ticket” option for each pass in Google Wallet to use it.
No release timeline yet, but it’s coming
On the other hand, we also have the Restaurant Insights. This will show suggested menu items and insights. Once again, this will also be based on your location. The Android Authority report notes that they’ve managed to enable the feature toggles for both of these. However, they couldn’t get them to actually work just yet. This is understandable considering that Google hasn’t officially released these two new At a Glance features.
At this point, we don’t know when these two new features will make their way. But considering the progress, it doesn’t look like Google will take too long to bring them to Pixel phones. Though we can’t tell for certain yet.
