The latest generation of Pixel phones has a serious challenge to overcome. Companies like Google and Samsung work together to create incredible new hardware and software. However, sometimes the final product isn’t quite as seamless as we’d hoped. That’s the case for early adopters of the new Google Pixel 10 phones, who are facing a frustrating bug that affects pairing with Galaxy Watch devices.
A bug is preventing Google Pixel 10 phones from pairing with Galaxy Watches
Despite both companies being key partners in the development of Wear OS, an issue is preventing Google’s new flagship phones from connecting with Samsung’s popular Galaxy Watches. Reports are flooding online forums and support pages from users who can’t get their brand-new devices to pair. The problem seems to affect various models. The reports mention the Galaxy Watch 8 series, the Galaxy Watch 7 series, and even the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The problem seems to occur during the initial setup. It results in the pairing process between Pixel 10 phones and Galaxy Watch devices freezing, whether attempting it from the Galaxy Wearable app or from manual Bluetooth settings. This issue appears to be tied specifically to the Pixel 10 series, as the watches pair perfectly with Samsung’s own phones.
The source of the problem is still unclear. The frustration is widespread, with users reporting similar headaches and failed attempts to connect. While some have found temporary workarounds, such as reinstalling certain apps, these fixes don’t seem to work for everyone.
Google and Samsung already aware
The good news is that both companies are likely aware of the issue. Google’s support forums have confirmed that a team is investigating the pairing failures. “Thanks for confirming. The team is already looking into the pairing failures with Pixel 10 Pro XL, and I’ll update this thread once there’s more information to share,” said a Google product expert in the support forums.
Given the close collaboration between Google and Samsung on the Wear OS platform, a fix is hopefully on the way soon. For now, Pixel 10 owners with a Galaxy Watch will have to be patient.
