Google has started rolling out fixes for Android Auto’s connection-related issues after a growing number of users reported problems online. Over the past few weeks, complaints have been building up across forums and support pages, with many Android Auto users reporting their phones were failing to connect or randomly disconnecting during use. Now, Google has responded with software updates, which it has aimed at addressing these issues, reports Android Authority.
Several Android Auto users have reported connection issues with their phones
Over the past month, Android Auto users started filling support forums with connection-related issues. Some users noticed the navigation maps would randomly freeze in the middle of a trip. Others complained about losing the ability to link their phone to their vehicle using a wireless connection. In some cases, the whole screen would just go black without warning.
The issue is particularly affecting users of Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones. Apart from wireless connections, the issue also appears when connecting the phone to Android Auto using a USB cable. For Pixel users, the problems arrived after the March update, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26, S25, S24, and S23 series users reported the same issues.
Google has finally fixed Android Auto’s connection problems
A Google representative has told Android Authority that it is rolling out a software update that fixes Android Auto’s connection-related issues. As of now, the company hasn’t yet shared the main cause of these issues, and the representative only said: “The team is aware of this and fixes are beginning to roll out.”
Google is rolling out the new Android Auto software update in a gradual manner, so not everyone will get it right away. You can do a manual check by opening the Google Play Store, checking for any pending updates, and hitting the download button. If the issue persists over wired connections, then we advise you to swap out your USB cable for another one.
