Several Google Fi users received a “SIM card is no longer active” error earlier this week. There were many complaints from users that they couldn’t access mobile data. Well, the good news is that Google officially acknowledged the issue on its support page. It was reportedly able to patch it. In addition to that, Google Fi wants to make up for this 2026 service outage by offering a $20 credit.
Google Fi users are receiving a $20 credit after the recent 2026 service outage
Going into the story, on the night of March 31st, several Google Fi users began reporting issues with the service. Users report that they can’t access mobile data and are receiving the “Your SIM card is no longer active” message. Thankfully, the tech giant acknowledged the issue and reportedly patched it, although it wasn’t instant.
To make up for the poor experience its users had faced, Google Fi is offering a compensation of sorts. A Reddit user, bananabrownie, shared an email they received from Google Fi, which states that they would receive $20 as service credit for the interruption.

Google Fi is sending emails to users
In case you haven’t received an email from Google Fi about the $20 credit, you might have some luck contacting the customer support team. For those who did receive it, you can check for the $20 credit in the Fi app on your phone under Billing > Fi > Savings > Earned. In the email, Google reportedly notes that the issue has now been fixed. However, if someone is still experiencing issues, it suggests restarting the device will resolve them.
If you’re still unable to restore Google Fi’s mobile services, some users have reportedly found a workaround. Head to the Fi app on your phone and then to Home > International features, disable the toggle for calls to non-US numbers, wait for a minute, and enable it again.
