At last year’s Made by Google event in August, Google launched a new AI-powered feature called Gemini Live. Fast forward to the present day, the company has updated it multiple times to add new capabilities. While Google introduced extension support for multiple apps across Gemini Live, there are many popular apps that aren’t supported yet. Now, it seems Google is quietly working to expand extension support for a few popular apps in Gemini Live.
Google appears to have plans for expanding Gemini Live extensions support, soon
Yesterday, folks over at Android Authority reported spotting a list of app extensions soon to be added to Gemini Live. While tinkering through the Google Android app beta version 16.25.44.sa.arm64, the news outlet found a list of extensions Google is currently working on.Â
As seen in the screenshot below, the list includes extensions for apps like Clock, Spotify, YouTube Music, and many more. Do note that Gemini Live doesn’t support all of the extensions from the list below. However, that could change soon.Â

It’s unclear whether Google has finalized the development of these extensions. But we now know which ones will have support in Gemini Live. We also expect some of these apps to offer Gemini Live support soon, given that they have offered Gemini extension support since last year.Â
Some extensions are in the process of rollout
It’s clear that Google has some broad plans for Gemini Live, and now we are starting to get hints. If everything goes according to plan, soon, Gemini and Gemini Live will reach parity. Worth noting, the news outlet was able to enable at least four extensions that are in the process of rollout. As usual, there’s no official word from Google regarding these new extensions. So, we have to wait for the stable rollout.
