Samsung has officially extended its latest security rollout to the United States, targeting its premier foldable lineup. Following an initial release in South Korea last week, Samsung’s March 2026 security patch is now arriving for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6.
Security updates rarely grab headlines like major feature drops. However, this release brings some crucial fixes to important vulnerabilities. The patch resolves a total of 65 security issues, with eight classified as “critical” and 52 labeled as “high-level” threats.
The heavy lifting for this update was a collaborative effort. 60 of the fixes originated from Google for the broader Android ecosystem. On the other hand, Samsung provided five additional patches specifically for its own software layers.
March 2026 security update reaches US Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6 & Flip 6
In the US, the update is currently reaching carrier-locked variants of the four foldable devices. The firmware versions ending in ZC1 are for the Fold models , while ZC3 or ZC1 target the Flip series. The download will be about 500MB.
You can check to see if the update is available for your device manually if you haven’t gotten the notification. To do so, you just have to navigate to Settings, select Software Update, and tap Download and Install. As is typical with Android rollouts, the software is being released in stages. So, it may take a few days to reach every device across different network providers.
This March update is only about stability and security, but Samsung fans have more to look forward to in the next few weeks. The company recently opened the One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) beta program for its newest foldables, the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
This upcoming version promises a redesigned user interface and several new functional features. Once the stable version of One UI 8.5 launches for the latest generation, it is expected to trickle down to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 shortly after.
