Samsung announced today that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 isn’t just breaking records in Korea, but also in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 “received the most pre-orders in Z Fold history” in the US. That’s pretty impressive, but that also shows that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is starting to hit the mainstream a bit more.
Samsung also says that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 combined saw more than a 25% increase in pre-orders compared to the previous generation. With carriers seeing a nearly 60% jump in pre-orders year-over-year.
Customers are also enjoying the new Blue Shadow color, as Samsung says that nearly half of all pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 were in Blue Shadow. Typically, the black color is the most popular. Meanwhile, on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 side, Coralred “exceeded expectations” and made up nearly a quarter of all Galaxy Z Flip 7 pre-orders.
Finally, Samsung is still seeing momentum for both devices, following general availability last week. Right now, orders are continuing to outpace the previous generation by more than 25%. And the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in particular is outpacing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 by nearly 50% since general availability began on July 25.
It’s not just media and content creators that are excited for Samsung’s new foldables
A lot of the time with new devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, the media gets very hyped for them. But when the devices actually go on sale, the sales don’t translate. That’s not the case here. Just about every reviewer has given the Galaxy Z Fold 7 a glowing review, and many customers that pre-ordered are also giving the same kind of review.
Neither device is perfect, but Samsung did take a huge step in the right direction this year, after being complacent for a few years.
