With the Galaxy S26 series now in the rearview mirror, tech enthusiasts have shifted their gaze toward Samsung‘s next big event: the summer foldables. However, if recent leaks are any indication, those expecting a massive hardware overhaul for the upcoming Flip device might want to temper their expectations. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 was spotted on China’s 3C certification platform, confirming a couple of key details, including its fast-charging speed.
3C certification confirms familiar specs for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
According to a report from 91Mobiles, a Samsung device with the model number SM-F7760 recently appeared on the 3C database. Given Samsung’s naming conventions, this one aims to be the Chinese variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The listing suggests that the device will support a maximum charging speed of 25W. If this holds true, the Flip 8 will match the wired charging speeds of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. So, everything points to another year without a boost in power delivery.
The “steady as she goes” approach doesn’t seem to stop at charging. Previous reports indicate that the Flip 8 will likely use a dual-battery system with a combined rated capacity of 4,174mAh. This would likely be marketed as a 4,300mAh battery—exactly the same capacity found in the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. While this setup generally lasts a full day under moderate use, some users had hoped Samsung would adopt the newer silicon-carbon battery technologies that competitors are using to squeeze more juice into slim frames.
On the photography front, the story remains much the same. Rumors suggest the Flip 8 will retain the 50MP primary sensor and 12MP ultrawide lens on the back. For selfies while the phone is open, you can use a 10MP punch-hole camera. While these specs are respectable for a foldable, they are extremely familiar. Those looking for a significant leap in mobile photography for Flip phones will have to keep waiting.
What will actually change?
It isn’t all “more of the same,” however. As with every yearly iteration, you can expect a performance boost. Speculation points toward the device housing either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Exynos 2600 chip, depending on the region. Reports from weeks ago suggested the presence of Exynos hardware in all units globally, though.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 isn’t expected to make its official debut until July. So, potential buyers face a choice. If you are currently using an older foldable and need an upgrade, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 remains a highly capable option that shares many of these rumored specs. However, maybe you value having the absolute latest processor and the most refined software optimizations. If that’s the case, waiting a few more months might be worth it.
