Samsung kicked off the One UI 8 Watch rollout with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024 model back in July. Last week, it announced the beta program for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. Today, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is getting the second One UI 8 Watch Beta update. This much-needed update brings improvements to performance-related issues and fixes some known issues as well.
Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is receiving the second One UI 8 Watch beta update
The second beta update for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is currently rolling out in South Korea. If you have enrolled in the beta program, you should see the update. But if you haven’t received it, you can check for it manually in the Galaxy Wearable app, Watch settings > Watch software update menu.
The beta update, which weighs 158.28MB in size, comes with the firmware version R960XXU1ZYI5/R9600XM1ZYI5. It brings the September 2025 security patch as well.

The update brings performance improvements
The second beta update to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic fine-tunes its performance, which should improve the overall experience of the wearable. It fixes an issue where customized services wouldn’t turn on after connecting to a new phone. It also addresses the AOD (always-on display) malfunction when setting a specific Watch face.
The One UI 8 Watch upgrade brings some notable features like Bedtime Guidance, a mindfulness feature, Now Bar, new watch faces, finger pinch gestures, and new charging animations. There’s a new app launcher design and the ability to add more widgets in tiles. Samsung may roll out the stable update to the Watch 6 series, possibly later this year.
