The time has come for JerryRigEverything’s Galaxy S26 Ultra durability test. Zack, the owner of the channel, managed to get his hands on the device, and he released a durability test video on YouTube.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra gets tortured to prove how durable it is
The video itself has a duration of over 8 minutes, and in it, he does his standard durability tests, along with some additional tests specific to this phone. That includes a closer look at the S Pen (after he snapped it in half), a closer look at the phone’s display, and so on.
Let’s take things one step at a time, though. First, he decided to snap the S Pen in half to give us a closer look at its internals. He also talks about how inferior this S Pen is to some of the previous iterations, which is something we talked about a number of times thus far.
The phone’s display is protected by Gorilla Armor 2. In Zack’s scratch test, the display did scratch with a level 6 pick, but only barely. The scratches are properly visible on a level 7, which is great.
He also scratched the phone’s frame and buttons, just to prove that they’re made out of metal. It’s aluminum this time around, compared to titanium that Samsung used last year.
As per usual, Zack also decided to hold the display under a lighter flame, which took around 20 seconds to do some damage, but not permanent damage. As soon as he removed the lighter, the display’s pixels went back to normal.
Scratches did not affect its fingerprint scanner, while the phone did not bend at all
The ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner managed to work even after the glass was scratched, so no worries there. Even if you manage to scratch it, it will work just fine.
And then there comes a bend test. That’s usually the most popular part of Zack’s durability tests. The only Samsung phone that failed this test is the Galaxy Z TriFold, which is understandable.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra did great in the bend test, as it did not flex at all, which goes for putting pressure on it from both the front and the back.
