The Samsung Galaxy S26 series may not offer Qi2 magnets after all. Those three phones were supposed to join the Google Pixel 10 series to push the adoption of magnets on Android, but that may not be happening.
Nieuwemobiel published not only the Galaxy S26 Ultra S Pen colors yesterday, but some accessories that are coming to the Galaxy S26 series. Interestingly enough, some of the see-through cases include a circular magnet, and some do not.
The Galaxy S26 series may not include Qi2 magnets, there are two indicators of that
It’s odd to include a magnet in the case if the phones themselves will include magnets, right? Well, that could point to the fact that the Galaxy S26 will not include magnets on the inside, as pointed out by 9to5Google.
That’s not our only hint, though. We published the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra official renders recently. In the spec sheets for all three phones, Wireless Power Share was mentioned.
If the devices end up having magnets, how will they offer reverse wireless charging? The Google Pixel 10 series was unable to do that, so it offers reverse wired charging. There is a chance that Samsung found a way, though on the other hand, this could be another hint that magnets will not come included inside the phone.
If this ends up being true, it will be a serious hit for some users who expected them. They’ve been rumored for quite some time. Apple’s iPhones support MagSafe and thus come with included magnets; it has been that way for a long time.
These phones were expected to join the Google Pixel 10 series
Google’s Pixel 10 phones joined the party last year, and the Galaxy S26 series was supposed to push the trend even further. Having magnets inside phones can be quite useful, needless to say. Not only for charging purposes, but also for general accessories.
We’ll have to wait until February 25 to find out the truth. That is the Galaxy S26 series’ rumored launch date.
