It’s the start of 2026 and you know what that means: Samsung’s getting ready to launch its new flagship series of phones. The good news is that things appear to be progressing rather nicely. According to the latest reports from Korea, mass production of the Galaxy S26 will begin this month.
Galaxy S26 gears up for production this month
According to the report, Samsung is getting ready to put the Galaxy S26 series into production this month. What’s interesting is that Samsung is banking hard on the Ultra model to be its best-seller. So much so that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will make up the majority of initial shipments, with an estimated six times the volume compared to the other models.
Also, the report claims that Samsung is putting the Galaxy S26 Plus back into the mix. Earlier rumors claimed that Samsung would replace the Plus model with the Edge model. However, following disappointing sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company has decided to bring back the Plus model, but we’ll get to that later.
As to when the phones will launch, you might have to wait just a bit. The latest rumors claim that the phones will go on sale on March 11. This means that the official announcement could take place either at the start of March or towards the end of February. This is slightly later than usual, but it’s not too late.
What about the Edge series?
For those hoping to see another Galaxy Edge series, here’s where things get a bit confusing. Due to poor battery life and a somewhat hefty price tag, the Galaxy S25 Edge did not sell as well as Samsung would have liked. Initial rumors suggested that Samsung would replace the Plus model with the Edge, but poor sales have forced the company to backtrack on those plans.
There was some initial talk about the series being axed completely. However, more recent reports are now saying that Samsung could try their hand at it again. Either way, it still feels like everything’s still up in the air at this point in time. But what we do know is that the main lineup is sticking around.
So, if you’re planning on upgrading your phone, maybe hold off for a couple of months to see what Samsung will be bringing to the table.
