Samsung is now boosting the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra production. A report from Korea claims it to be the case. Why? Well, the Galaxy S26 turned out to be more popular than the company hoped it would be, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is also selling a bit better than expected.
Samsung will make more Galaxy S26 & Ultra units than planned, as the demand is strong
All in all, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is quite popular thus far. Samsung initially planned to manufacture a total of 2.4 million units of the Galaxy S26 phones in April. 800,000 of those would be the Galaxy S26, 300,000 the Galaxy S26+, and 1.3 million the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Well, new production numbers, the updated ones, say that Samsung boosted the Galaxy S26 production from 800,000 to 1.3 million. The company did something similar for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, as it will now manufacture 1.5 million units, instead of 1.3 million.
The Galaxy S26+ is a whole different story
What about the Galaxy S26+? You may wonder. Well, that phone is selling worse than anticipated, so the production numbers have been lowered from the planned 300,000 to 200,000 units.
So not all three models in the series are immensely popular, but that will hardly affect Samsung. The Galaxy S26 seems to be a lot more popular, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is also in higher demand than expected. Slightly less demand for the Galaxy S26+ doesn’t really make a difference. This is already a huge positive for the company.
Sources are saying that a huge reason why the Galaxy S26 Ultra is so popular is Privacy Display. That feature, which Samsung has intensively marketed and is still marketing, managed to win over users.
Samsung also lowered production numbers for two of its more budget offerings
It is also worth noting that Samsung revised production numbers for the Galaxy A57 for April as well. The company will produce 1.6 million units in April, down from 1.8 million that was originally planned. Samsung did something similar for the Galaxy A17, as the number went down from 4.4 million to 3.9 million.
It seems like the company’s higher-end models are winning over users quicker than their budget counterparts.
