Everything points to Samsung continuing its new Galaxy S Edge in 2026. In fact, unlike this year, the company will ditch the classic “Plus” model in favor of the next-gen ultra-thin model. One issue stemming from the thinness of these devices is battery capacity. That said, a recent leak has confirmed the battery capacity for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge.
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Edge is getting a battery capacity upgrade
The latest report comes from Ice Universe, a reliable tech tipster. Their X/Twitter post shows a screenshot of a listing focused on the Galaxy S26 Edge’s battery capacity. In the mobile technology industry, such listings often provide an early indication of a device’s final hardware specifications. According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge’s battery has a rated capacity of 4,078mAh. Based on industry practices, Samsung will likely market this cell with a 4,200mAh nominal capacity.

For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge had a rated capacity of 3,786mAh, which was marketed as 3,900mAh nominal capacity. Additionally, the 4,200mAh figure matches that of an earlier leak.
Overall, the Galaxy S26 Edge aims to offer more juice for your everyday use. One of the areas where the current S25 Edge could be improved is undoubtedly its battery capacity. While the next-gen model will still fall far short of the industry’s best in this regard, it will offer more reasonable mAh figures for a flagship phone.
Rated vs. nominal battery capacity
In battery specifications, there are two key terms to understand. The rated capacity refers to the minimum amount of energy a battery is guaranteed to hold under specific test conditions. The industry uses this number for official certification listings and ensures the battery meets a minimum standard. Meanwhile, the nominal capacity represents the typical or average amount of energy the same battery can ideally hold. This is the value that you will always see for marketing purposes in product specifications.
