Samsung has kicked off the rollout of the April 2026 Android security update for the Galaxy S25 series. The company has released the new firmware for last year’s flagship soon after rolling it out for the Galaxy S26 lineup earlier this year. As expected, the April update for the phone, like all other previous patches, enhances its security by fixing various vulnerabilities in the Android OS.
The Galaxy S25 has received the April 2026 update in Korea before the wider rollout
Samsung has released the Android 2026 security update for the Galaxy S25 in South Korea at the moment, as per the screenshots shared by Tarun Vats on Twitter. The new update upgrades the firmware of the handset to S938NKSS9BZCH. While the new software doesn’t bring any new features, it does improve the overall security of the smartphone.
Samsung hasn’t revealed the exact number of security vulnerabilities the new software update fixes for the Galaxy S25. The company is rolling out the new update over the air in a gradual manner, so not all the units will receive it at once. You can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The brand will release the April 2026 Android security patch to all Galaxy S25 series variants and expand the rollout to additional markets later this month.
Samsung could release the One UI 8.5 Beta 9 update for the S25 later this week
Samsung has been testing the One UI 8.5 update in beta for the Galaxy S25 series since December 2025. The company could roll out the latest One UI 8.5 Beta 9 firmware for the lineup on April 9. Reports indicate that the brand will also release another beta later this month. Dubbed the One UI 8.5 Beta 10, the update will presumably arrive on April 20.
One of the major features the Galaxy S25 series will receive in the One UI 8.5 Beta 9 update is AirDrop. We will keep an eye out for the new update and inform you as soon as we hear anything, so stay tuned to our constant coverage around the Samsung ecosystem.
