Were you experiencing battery drain on your Galaxy S24 after installing One UI 7? Well, the latest June 2025 security update from Samsung has reportedly addressed this major concern. Going back in time, the One UI 7 stable update reportedly ruined the battery performance of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. While the new version introduced a new user interface and features, it resulted in reduced battery backup.
Galaxy S24 battery drain fixed according to users
It appears that Samsung has resolved the Galaxy S24 battery drain in the background with the June 2025 security update. The security update was released at the beginning of the month. However, it started expanding to international models only two weeks ago—a week ago for the variants in the USA. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 international and USA variants also received the firmware in the same timeframe.
According to user reports, the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 5 now show improved battery backup. One of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 users on Reddit says the battery life improved by 400% compared to before the June 2025 update. “I unplugged it in the morning and still had 50% remaining by midnight,” said the user. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24+ users share similar feelings, but with a smaller improvement.
One UI 7 was a major update from Samsung. It took the system version to Android 15 while also introducing a brand new UI design, Now Bar, and improvements to AI features. Despite delays and abrupt pauses, the update did arrive, but it wasn’t without flaws. Many started complaining about poor battery performance.
However, a major system update usually takes a few days to stabilize as it re-indexes files and re-optimizes background processes. Either way, the June 2025 security update comes as a sign of relief for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 users, considering it fixed the battery issues.
