Samsung’s One UI 8 is on a roll as it started reaching more devices in a short span. We’ve already seen it rolling out to flagships like the Galaxy S24 and S23 and foldables like the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 models are also greeted with the latest One UI upgrade. The latest batch of devices getting the One UI 8 update includes the Galaxy A34, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A15, Galaxy A16, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. What’s interesting here is that the budget models are also getting the update around the same time as the more costly phones.
One UI 8 update for Galaxy A54, Galaxy A16, Galaxy Tab S9, and more
Like always, Korean models are the first to get the update. Although it should hit other regions eventually, depending on the local schedule. The One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A54 brings the firmware version A546SKSUCEYI5, while the Galaxy A34’s firmware is A346NKSUAEYI7. The download size of the update depends on whether you’re a part of the beta program or not.
You can check for the update by heading to System Settings > Software Update menu and tapping the “Download and Install” button. This is in case you haven’t received the update automatically.
A handful of improvements and enhancements
The One UI 8 update for these devices is based on the latest Android 16 OS. It brings only a handful of improvements and enhancements over One UI 7. Samsung notes that the overall user experience is enhanced with refinements to AI features. The Audio Eraser feature simplifies erasing audio in videos. One UI 8 brings a new lock screen clock style that dynamically changes its size and position. Leveraging Android 16’s native Desktop Mode, the new DeX is now cleaner and more powerful.
Under the hood, there are notable security improvements. Quick Share significantly improves file sharing between other Galaxy phones. Modes and Routines receive new customizable actions as well.
